ASIC/ASX changed the regulations governing when distributions can be paid after 2008 - dividends can be paid out of net equity now. In 2008 dividends could only be paid from retained earnings and CAM had not been running long enough to build up sufficient retained earnings to withstand the mark-to-market losses in the GFC. As soon as ASIC changed the regulations, CAM restarted dividends, and added 1 cent plus franking to the CAMPA dividend as compensation. This premium was completely discretionary by the board and was only removed last year.
The board can elect not to pay dividends, however I don't think this is likely. They have shown a high level of responsibility when it comes to dividends, there is ample cash held, and their investments are extremely liquid.
There are no certainties in the stock market apart from volatility - but I see CAMPA as an extremely good reward for risk investment. Again ... my opinion only, please do your own research.
