the real point is --------------- whatever is happening is happening and whatever is going to happen is going to happen -
what we will have to do is to adapt --
like we have been since before we invented the sewing needle which allowed us to survive the ice age
it's that simple
lets get real here ---------- man didn't cause the last ice age --------- but, his adaptive practices made sure he survived it -- and, not only that - but, survived in areas where he would not have been able to inhabit if he didn't adapt - invent, innovate and build
I believe that what mankind should be doing is just getting on with how to survive in extreme conditions --
doesn't matter how those conditions come about - man made, 'normal' climate change, getting wacked with a bloody big meteorite, - god knows what
we are in a sweet spot in history where we have technological development to an incredible level - I have never seen one single picture on a cave wall of man using an iphone - not one
so - lets stop rooting about and get on with it
lets get it that no matter if we get an ice age or whether we get a dry planet with skies full of dust - that we can survive -
in peace would be nice - not blowing the crap out of each other --
we should stop warring with each other and begin a war - a real war ---------- the enemy being the extremes of nature - which have killed far far far far far more humans in history and prehistory than man ever has.
just do it

Australia is a nett consumer of CO2 anyway! Our flora absorbs at least 40% more, CO2 than we generate. We can thus build many more coal plants before we are even in balance!
