when it was drought in Australia, tim was warning us, that this was the new norm - the effect of global warming - ie even if the rain that did fall, - well it would not run off into the dams, because the ground itself was too hot
when it rained, then we got the excuse, that the rain was caused by global warming - we hear the excuse now - warming increases precipitation - which causes rain.
so how come the global warming is not causing increased precipitation over south Africa???

Scientists in the Netherlands have found a new excuse as to why sea levels are stubbornly refusing to rise in line with Al Gore’s doomsday predictions: “ocean bottom deformation.”
Apparently, they claim in a study by Thomas Frederikse et al, the weight of the extra water caused by all those melting glaciers and icecaps is so great that it is causing the sea bed to sink.
