I agree... If everyone did critical analysis of what politicians and media jockeys say we wouldn't have this conflict.

I've said many times over the years that Flannery's and other modelling is not to be taken as factual. As a trader we all know that past performances etc. and predictive modelling has no basis on fact because they are trying to predict the unpredictable.

All the "flimflam" about Flannery's modelling is just fun to flap around and is used to kick someone to blame for what is happening.

There are probably some who would be looking for some excuse to blame the coronavirus on global warming. But just as those who blame Flannery for the lack of a magic means of making reality conform for probabilistic predictions, they are all just grasping at straws. Not much difference really.

Crikey, its around 15 years since Flannery tried to tell people what "Might" happen. They didn't have much information to go on then and the computer modelling lacked a lot of important information and factors beyond imagination. Yet some people can't help but castigate Flannery for one thing and ignore all the other knowledge that has developed since then. Not much critical analysis in that is there.

Any serious critical analysis takes in all the information, not just the media hype from news.com or the anti-science rants of bloggers and politicians. You know something is really happening though when serious consideration and actions are being taken by the likes of BIS, BHP, ASIC and APRA. none of these are leftie greenies.

    Scott.
