Probably a 4x power lens was used for the picture.

Blow it up a tad now compare the circumference and the rib below rim on the middle bigger drums for a comparison, the distance and circumference on the other drums is different but I will say it’s not definitive by any means. By the way on closer inspection it could be the middle 55 gallon drum,

I'd say that pit is further away and bigger than we think.
