@davdent interesting comments ..." I believe that Joel and Co are having to travel a very difficult road politically and are doing a surprisingly good job of it. Without a successful resolution of these issues, there be no hope of “gas in the pipe”.

I agree with what you are saying - but also believe there some bigger wheels rolling here.

Albo is being taken to task in the upcoming trade/tarrif talks about compensation for American Investors in NuCoal. This company basically 'nationalised' by the NSW State governement in 2014 (due to currupt directors). The point is - in the multitude of highly significant issues between Australia/ USA / Defence / China etc....this issue ...11 years old ...about the unfair treatment of American Investors (true it was unfair to both Aust and American Shareholders) over relatively small amounts of money is being slapped on the table front and center. Of all things.

The point being made: Dont mistreat, abuse, double deal or otherwise f&ck with American investors. Bullshit treatment (and NuCoal was BS by Aust) is not only not going to be tolerated, its not going to be forgotten, and its going to be paid for.

Fast forward to TBN. American listed and American investment dollars. If Labour think are going to play games wiht TBN - the Trump adminstration will disabused of this indulgance very quickly. Does anyone think for one second that Chris Wright is going take a nice cup of cocao and a hot toddy whilst heads are knocked about over a trade deal with Australia ?

Take it one step further.... the two projects that TBN are planning on advancing after the Alice deal trial:
    (1) Data center - the only data center in the red center is going to be for Pine Gap. So straight up - Defense card will be played.
    (2) Gas supply to enable Arafura resources develop its rare earth project (incidentally given support by the Aust Export Finance Australia – to the tune of a$US533 million loan). Given Trump just had his arse ripped by China in the trade talks, by China withholding rare earth/magnets exports.....I do not see a scenario where Labour cretins will be allowed for one millisecond to put the handbrakes on TBN - the key energy source for the Arafura project and the free flow of rare earth material. It should also be noted that on top of this - Albo wants to play the rare earth supply card to the USA to get trade concessions.

So I think the stars are aligning for TBN - and even if there are those in Labour who might be implaccabiy opposed to new gas projects, its a Merde sandwhich they are going to be persuaded, if not forced to eat. This is a just another layer on the diabolical domestic shortage of gas as well.
