I came across a reference in docs on Kogi State that in the Lokoja Triangle area, comprising Lokoja, Itakpe and Ajaokuta, there is so much Natural Gas that they flare the stuff into oblivion!!!
Unfortunately, we can't do the same with some of the gaseous postings by some Downrampers here, who seem to be sour on EIO.
Anyway, this plentiful Gas, which I would venture to presume is going very, very, very cheap at the moment, is one of the main reasons the smelter (Ajaokuta) and Iron Ore Concentrator (Itakpe) were located in this area.
Therefore, anything that requires a lot of Very Cheap Energy can be assured of a plentiful supply of Gas here.
It is for these reasons that I reckon the Concentrator, where you can almost double the Fe count of the ore, is an ace in the hole for this project.
What's the bet that the Nigerian Govt wants to get this Concentrator plant up and running again and will support and subsidize the operation now that they are making so much money from their Oil.
Now we just need to find some good use for the Downramping Gas being generated here!
