Well, our resident FE's will say that they are not flying in a straight line.

Their response to the BBC episode was that the plane wasn't flying in a straight line towards the horizon.

They say that it was flying in a circle, following the Sun as it moved in a circle above a flat Earth.

They will say that's why they never reach the edge !

Bit tricky that. In the video of the plane flying towards the horizon at Mach 1+, the occupants were sitting straight up in their seats.

Imagine the centrifugal force they would feel (& show) if flying at that speed in a circle !!
