When I analyse things in scripture, I come across contractions, like the two versions of the creation narratives in Genesis and the two versions of how to react to violence (an eye for an eye vs turn the other cheek). Of course, there are ways that people dream up to remove the contradiction tag in their own minds. It all lands up in circular arguments that go nowhere, and hence a waste of time. This then leads some to give up on a desire to analyse in greater depth.
