Humans have no capacity to understand the supernatural. The most we can hope for from works such as the Bible is an acceptance that God exists and we have a responsibility to develop our spiritual lives so that we are prepared for the next stage of our spiritual existence. So we are required to establish a virtuous, moral life full of deeds.
