How can I prove that for myself?

They could have been shot there by unmanned craft.

Well I went outside last night and couldn't see any of that 'with my own eyes'.

Why not? Are they still getting paid? Do have families that can be threatened?

So anyway, believe it or not I'm totally ambivalent on this issue, for me it falls into the 'interesting but makes no difference to our lives whatsoever' camp. But like many other issues, it all comes down to a matter of belief because I can't prove it for myself either way. Basically, who cares?
