Mitchells’ fleet of 19 vehicles will make significant savings on both emissions and running costs annually while delivering to schools and hotels, shops, restaurants and doorsteps across Aberdeenshire and Aberdeen.
The fuel, which has 80% less emissions, is sold to Mitchells by BBF at a saving of 10p a litre on regular diesel.
Mr Parkinson, who operates from Greenwell Road, Aberdeen, said: “Our fuel is an environmentally-friendly alternative to fossil-based diesel. It will produce the same or better miles-per-gallon, improved engine performance through natural lubrication, give fewer harmful emissions and no smell, is carbon neutral and no engine modifications are needed.”
why aren't the big fleet operators, eg the Lindsay Fox types, jumping on this here??
I'm tempted to make my own biodiesel at negligible cost and start my own goods or courier or even milk delivery service. Fuel costs virtually nil if you collect your own fats or even collect your own fats and supplement with Biodiesl from Biomax. Sounds crazy but could work, lol
