For those interested in guesstimating the potential size of this new market:
* There are approx 10.1m households in Aus.
* Twenty-six % are paying rent - so approx 2.6m
* Avg rental term is 4.5 years
* Assume household growth will be flat to negative as a consequence of Covid for next few years
If someone’s bored it would be interesting to see some theoretical $$$. Personally I could see this capturing a large % of bond payments. Over the years I’ve loaned a lot of friends/family/staff bond payments to cover the gap between paying the new bond and receiving the old.
