I traveled in Europe during the pandemic in March and had a forced 14 day quarantine and testing after being in an office where a dozen people got covid-19 including my co-workers. All of them were incredibly ill and took more than a week to recover.
Furthermore travel insurance does not cover your expenses of having to iso in a foreign country (hint: it's expensive).
Speaking first hand getting covid-19 or coming into contact with it on your travels is one of the worst experiences you can imagine.
