I presume this refers to the PTO but it does not say which type was superior but I am guessing it is linear.

It would probably not have been possible to carry out this comparison without the assistance of MARINET. The use of the wave tank is free with the proviso that information gained is shared among the participants. Provisions are made to protect IP in some cases.

CWE could benefit greatly from the experimentation being done by the other participants.
