I suppose it depends on when the 1 to 5 year timeline began. It would appear that they have made considerable progress already.
If they are getting close to getting the technology right, it will probably come down to finance. Europe seems to be way ahead of the rest of the world in regards to all aspects of marine energy development, including government and private funding options.
I would assume that progress would have been made already into how they will fund an array in Europe.
My question would be, having contributed so much already, would MARINET want the first CETO 6 array to be deployed in Europe?
That prospect might motivate our government to increase their support to ensure that the first one is built here.
