You would think so. But under a thread here titled; "Your flood levy at work", it is clear that some heartbreaking cases will receive nothing.
Also, it is my understanding that Julia's levy is 100% for infrastructure, not charity. That little detail seems to have got a bit lost recently.
So;
1. Some of the worst hardship cases will receive nothing.
2. None of the levy will be going to help individuals.
I wonder how many people realise that their levy will be financing bridges and roads, which is what we normally expect our taxes and property rates to be paying for.
The carbon tax conflagration has pushed the flood levy on to the backburner, but Senator Nick Xenophon is still receiving submissions and will decide its fate.
