As a Queenslander Id like to pass on my sympathy to those who have lost loved ones in the tragedy in the Toowoomba and Lockyer Valley area, a tragedy which is still unfolding.
I also extend outmost respect for their courage and devotion, to the people of the Emergency Services, the SES, Fire & Rescue, the Police Service and those brave Helicopter crews.
A vast volume of water from those areas is now sweeping towards the Wivenhoe Dam, the dam is already full, busy spilling water into the Brisbane river. Tomorrow the dam will be tested as never before, while Brisbane suburbs face flooding due to a King tide adding to the runoff from Wivenhoe.
