Sorry to bring you the bad news (flesh)

    2 Peter
    creation’s beginning.

So this beginning is post Genesis 1.1

KJV - 2 Peter - from the beginning of creation.” -> The Gen's creation is, was complete, in this verse.

    John 1
1 In the beginning was the Word,
and this beginning is pre Genesis 1.1 -> Yes that is correct

    somewhat elastic.

Not if you grasp what should be considered, very basic Bible teachings, there are various beginnings.
    ----------
Logos means, thought, reason, plan etc as much as it does, those thoughts being expressed into word.

In the beginning was the logos -> Titus 1:2 - In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began;(Greek - before time ternal).
2 Tim 1:9 - Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, (Again Greek - before time eternal).

The same (this it) (Titus etc) was in the beginning with God.

1 John 1:2 - (For the life was manifested, and we have seen it, and bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, and was manifested unto us

That is what was in the beginning with God, as well as, the creation events, two beginnings, you might say.
The first of his plans was the life eternal and always to be through the future Jesus.
Hence Jesus is ref as the Beginning of the creation of God -> Thought, plan etc Rev 3:14.
And in the very same context -> Jesus is the firstborn of God's creation Col 1:15 -> inner plans as in Eph 3:9.

At John 1:3, the Gen's creation plan is shown to have already been expressed into being.
Then the Book of John swings back and continues on the eternal life aspect.
Hence John 1:4 In Him (God) life (Titus etc) was and that life (Titus etc) was the light of men.

God's word is the Light Psa 119:105, Jesus was given it over many years, hence he became a light and received life in himself, that life being, God's word.
Hence to represent this, he received the name - The Word of God.
Effectively became the walking, living Bible, the Tent, Temple to which God dwelt in.
John 1:1..........and God was the Word.................dwelling in Jesus. John 10:14, make this Very clear.

Your are to accept and abide in the word of God and become a light, child of light, child of God and not a child of Jesus, but a brother.
