Let me rephrase this post.
Watching the TV news it's like there's never been floods before.
The emphasis these days seems to be the floods are a result of Climate Change.
I can certainly sympathise with those affected but if you live close to a river in an older part of town, that's what happens.
The only solution is substantial levee bank construction - contain the water as it passes through your town.
I remember it wasn't that long ago that Rockhampton was cut off for 4 weeks, the airport was even under water.
Then Townsville a couple of years ago.
Hopefully the late spring rains have finished for the season.
Now us up north await the cyclone season.
