Given that SDF has excellent digital, allegedly top quality offerings allowing contestable quotes for insurance needed by small and medium business enterprises in particular, and what it says are 'market leading policy wordings', the yet to be at maximum level NSW/southeast Queensland floods may well (surprisingly) be positive for SDF.

Provided insurers continue to offer businesses coverage in such areas as Windsor (NSW), Penrith, Kempsey and Taree, it's probable that premiums will increase above CPI. The value of SDF's gross written premiums will continue to impressively rise.

Faced with increasing annual premiums in a fair swathe of east coast Australia, business operators will need the advice of insurance brokers even more, as the latter can advise on which policies offer the best coverage for the least expenditure. Guess who has the largest network in Oz!

Where is the provision for the catastrophes?

The embattled KPMG appears to have audited it with an interesting approach to disclosures about catastrophes and not much on that.
