My view.
This test build is part of the calibration process.
When an aeroplane is fully calibrated and starts operating ... every trip from say Australia to Singapore, the plane is off course 99% of the time ... but the computer keeps correcting it and it arrives on target with passangers unaware of just how off course they had been.
DST works in a similar way whereby it autocorrects the inaccuracies very fast ... but as the calibration is tweaked ... the size of each correction becomes smaller therefore producing straighter walls.
Don't sack the pilot during calibration but also don't reward him for big errors ( out of alignment blocks after customers are onboard) wait for the SAT announcement and video rather than speculate on the photos of a first time HC poster.
