Cor blimey MJP2, the dour desperadoes who deny the mountain of evidence underpinning the science of global warming and climate change are out in force today. Sadly, the lack of any scientific coherency in the ramblings of these posters hasn’t stopped them letting everyone know of their existence. Yes, we can see you. So?
I can’t work it out: are clinic staff on strike today? Or are they all fired up and angry after reading the latest woo in high priest Rupert Murdoch’s Angry Club For Ageing Men publications such as Limited News’ The Australian or Herald Sun? Or did one of those plucky billionaires fighting tooth and nail to expose the global conspiracy of climate scientists stage an impromptu word salad festival?
Denial works in mysterious ways. It has to.
But allow me to digress for a moment. I’m still getting a laugh out of a Deniers possible meme for 2018 I generated earlier in the week: I Aimed For Stupid And Hit My Target, I’m a Great Archer.
Back on topic, Where I am, the current temperature is either above average, average, or below average. How about where you are?
To address some of the issues raised in this thread, I find it useful to refer to an authority, such as renowned science agency NASA, as opposed to relying on unsupported assertions, faith and constant repetition by deniers of inanities. Deniers give new meaning to broken record.
The following is from a NASA Internet page entitled Global Climate Science.
“The current warming trend is of particular significance because most of it is extremely likely (greater than 95 percent probability) to be the result of human activity since the mid-20th century and proceeding at a rate that is unprecedented over decades to millennia.1”
“Earth-orbiting satellites and other technological advances have enabled scientists to see the big picture, collecting many different types of information about our planet and its climate on a global scale. This body of data, collected over many years, reveals the signals of a changing climate.”
