Florida to host offshore powwow 21/11/2014 US officials will hold the first-ever offshore renewable energy steering meeting in Florida next month with an eye to future leasing rounds off the Sunshine state. The Bureau of Ocean Energy Management will open to doors to the Florida Intergovernmental Renewable Energy Task Force on 11 December in Port St Lucie. "The purpose of this task force is to facilitate coordination among federal, state, local and tribal government organizations for potential renewable energy leasing efforts in federal waters offshore Florida's Atlantic Coast," said BOEM. Only government agencies can participate although the public will be given the opportunity to provide comment at the end of this meeting. Further information available from BOEM.
