I have been thinking about what is going on with China and the US... and how the Evergrande debt crisis is making headlines with others possibly to follow in China. I'm keen to get your thoughts on this... for a country perceived to be the opposite to the US and Western capitalism ... isn't the emergence of such issues in China actually a sign that they are becoming more transparent and somewhat setting new boundaries for corporates that operate in China.

Where in the past the government might just absorb or guarantee the debt and brush it under the carpet... this public display is unusual for China and almost feels like the government is disciplining it's country. Get your act together because if you stuff up, there will be consequences and we are not going to solve it for you. Irresponsible lending practices and management can lead to systematic failure if left unchecked... I feel this is China's way of correcting that and it's a very capitalist thing to do.
