Fluence didn't bother telling us about another 3000 m3/d SUBRE plant (the equal largest installation done in China) that they have just installed in the Qinghai Lake region of North-Western China (Erlangjian Scenic Area, Hainan).
This is a cold weather resistant, high altitude plant based on the 3000 m3/d Liaoning Province cold weather plant. It is both a tourist area, plus an important drinking water source, so has very strict effluent guidelines similar to the plant in Sichuan Province. This sort of application is where I see the future growth of Fluence, where tourism areas which have fluctuating levels of sewage meet with strict discharge standards. The total that the local government is spending on the whole project is around $10 million USD, with the proportion that Fluence will get for the SUBRE modules and designs would likely be somewhere between $2 and $3 million USD, just under the threshold where Fluence like to report to the ASX. Without the work Fluence have done in Liaoning, it is unlikely they would have won this project. This one is another important cog in proving out the MABR technology under more harsh conditions (3200m altitude, minus 30 deg celcius snowy weather, while adhering to strict discharge standards). If it works here, it works just about anywhere.
