This small water body is located in Lijiaqiao Village, Donghu Street, Linping District. It was originally two large ponds. Due to the long-term accumulation of rainwater and mixed with rural sewage, the water quality has deteriorated and the odor is overflowing, affecting the living environment of the villagers. At the end of last year, Donghu Sub-district further promoted the construction of a demonstration village of "zero and direct sewage discharge" in Lijiaqiao Village, installed a rural domestic sewage treatment terminal underground, and built a landscape park.

This rural domestic sewage treatment terminal is not simple. According to the relevant person in charge of Donghu Street, it includes six modules, including adjustment tank, MABR integrated equipment, sedimentation tank, sludge thickening tank, iron-carbon filter tank, intermediate water tank/outlet tank, etc., with a daily sewage treatment capacity of about 190 tons. Effective coverage of 334 households in the village.

In the design of each link, the terminal especially strengthens the pretreatment processes such as oil separation and filter according to local conditions. "For example, Lijiaqiao Village has a seasonal winemaking industry, so we have strengthened the alcohol pretreatment process, and the filtered wine will be discharged into the treatment terminal, and the water quality will be better," said the person in charge.

Not only that, this sewage treatment terminal has further realized "turning waste into treasure". It is reported that the sewage treatment terminal is equipped with a water quality monitoring station, which can monitor the quality of the treated sewage in real time. The "tail water" after passing the monitoring becomes "fertilizer water", which is directly used to irrigate farmland and fruit trees, and becomes the source of water replenishment for small and micro water bodies in the park, which truly realizes the "two benefits" of water resources utilization, farmland irrigation, and ecological protection and restoration.

After nearly two months of operation, the full-load status of sewage treatment for farmers in Lijiaqiao has been improved, and the small and micro water bodies in the village have been "reborn". "Next, we will continue to upgrade and transform rural domestic sewage treatment terminals to create a 'Donghu model' for high-level rural sewage treatment." said the relevant person in charge of Donghu Street.
