In this PPP (Public Private Partnership) project, which reads to me like a BOO between the Huoqiu County and Kaitian, securing phase 1 covering 24 towns with 24 new sewage treatment plants treating about 17,400 m3/d of municipal sewage. According to the report, more than 65% of the treatment plants used in this project uses MABR treatment process which managed to reduce the cost of sewage treatment to as low as rmb 0.56 per ton.

This project demonstrates the workings of PPP projects for the rural areas which the smart water systems can be implement to other rural counties. In addition, there is a phase 2 in Huoqiu for another 17,400 m3/d to be completed by 2030.

I have a feeling activities in China is about to return, not as much in a neck breaking pace taking into consideration of the property debacles in some provinces, but looking at the Shanghai expo is now re-schedules to October and one in Shenzhen around the corner, I think the outlook in our second half is much better than the first.
