There was some news in the Zhejiang Hangzhou net last week reporting that Hubu is the first village of the first batch of pilots certified by the expert group of the Municipal Construction Committee as the "Zero direct discharge village" in September this year.

I believe this is after one year in operation and testing. It has mentioned that the WWTP system in Hubu is MABR, which I think is one of the 10 plus plants we have installed in the last years.

Another article on 1/06/2022 had also mentioned that in Hangzhou, there are 55 "Zero direct discharge villages" built with 48 in operation. So being the first to be certified, IMO, shows the efficacy and quality of MABR ahead of other systems. Amongst the 48 plants in operation, I believe we have at least 10 for the pilots.

What is encouraging is, according to the June article, Hangzhou alone for rural administration are divided into 1,938 administrative villages in 10 districts, with 9,656 treatment facilities but only 55 are "zero-direct-discharge villages" currently. So I am quite encouraged as the first certified, we would have plenty of work to do in the future.

I especially like last paragraph of the 1/6/22 article:

"In the next step, Hangzhou City will deeply integrate the agricultural sewage treatment work with the projects that have been unveiled and named by establishing a "horse race" mechanism for village and town construction, so that the rural sewage treatment in Hangzhou will continue to maintain a high level. Planning there will be 96 "zero-direct discharge villages" by end of this year."
