I understand your concerns nevada - that is your choice.
I would however warn you that when comparing fluoride in the water (for ingestion) and fluoride in toothpaste (strictly no swallowing) that you need to understand the relative concentrations for the comparison to have any relevance.
Authorities in Australia recommend young tots not use Fluoride toothpaste until they have a well developed swallowing reflex. As well young children are advised to use low dose fluoride toothpaste because they were ingesting too much of it and their teeth were becoming mottled in some cases.
Have a guess at how much fluoride is in a swimming pool of water (Olympic size) compared to 2 cms of paste on a toothbrush!
