Flying Petri dishes

I used to fly Qantas for business trips domestically every fortnight and internationally a couple of times a year. It cost the companies that were paying about $50,000 a year.
I haven't flown since February this year. All of those essential to attend meetings are being zoomed. There is going to be a lot less business travel in future. I think the public servants will be right into it again because that's how their TA rort works.

More importantly I don't want to fly more than I really have to. If you hear someone seated near you coughing and sneezing you will have a cold or flu in 3 days. Planes have always been flying Petri dishes.

Qantas still has an expensive overhead structure. Old world pay structure, a huge stock of big old airplanes that will be redundant by the time they are needed. Smart, cheap, new entrants could eat it for breakfast.

In my view its goodwill is close to no existent. Air flight is a commodity. Qantas is worth the sum of its parts minus the liability of its locked in pay structure.
