I was a holder during the Futuris days it came very close to going belly up a number of times I hold my original shares that probably did cost $26 in real terms they did many capital raisings and a share consolidation. I stuck with them and bought alot during their turnaround and turned a big loss into a profit I sold most of my shares below $10 (stupid decision).
Learnt alot of things holding Elders shares probably the biggest is turnarounds do happen its great to have i believe the oldest company in Australia still trading I think it was one of the biggest companies in Australia also at one time. I think also when they had to divest most of their business during the GFC they got peanuts for them. Some were fairly good standalone businesses like the fertilizer business.
From memory they also had a business making hotel/commercial ceramic ware like plates and cups Futuris was just a big hodge podge of different businesses.
