I firmly believe that Saddam Hussein and his regime have got to go.
Nevertheless I was not impressed by John Howard's speech. He reitereated points which the public is well aware of but did not explain at all why Parliament was not recalled.
I think that all Australians should get in behind the military when they go into action. However in his usual way John Howard has played politics and tried to exclude the Parliament. This is the sort of thing I would expect from a Gough Whitlam not a politician with many years experience.
I think that it is time for Peter Costello to take over as Prime Minister. When I first came to Australia I was told "New South Welshmen make great cricket captains and bodgie Prime Ministers."
