Its the next dividend later this year which could well be over $2 if the iron ore price is around $140US/T to $160US/T.
From July last year the IO was $82US/T then slowly rose to $115US/T by Nov before going up sharply in Dec to $152US/T.

So far this year its averaged over $150US/T where from July 1 to Dec 31 the average buy price was about $120US/T.

This time last year the average IO was about $65US/T and we got the $0.76 div then later in the year it was the $1 divvy per share.

Many of the banks think the forecast is for a total year return this year of $3.40 where they think it will be $1.40
come this Thursday and then a final divvy of $2 later in the year.

Forecasts have been consistently wrong.
This time last year the predictions was a 40c divvy then as we know it was 76c,
Later in the year the prediction was 76c again for the divvy and it was $1.

Maybe we are all wrong and it will be higher.

Only 2 days to go until we know one way or the other.
This time last year they were treasury was predicting IO to be $55US/T by years end so only $100US/T out.

The pandemic has caused so much damage to other countries and China acting like a bully has seen the IO sky rocket.

lol treasury predictions. Just goes to show; if an economist was an accurate modeller and forecaster, they wouldn't be working as an economist.
