Late breaking news....... in today's AFR, Our mining CEO, Dynamic Dino (Otranto), under the banner ....."Fortescue pushes for tax credit overhaul."is advocating for a $50 million cap on the deisel fuel tax rebate. This should set the Cat amongst the pigeons! ......especially BHP & RIO.
This would address the contradiction of our government competing policies promoting, on the one hand, decarbonising the Australian economy, whilst simultaneously encouraging the continuation of carbon-fartin technologies especially in heavy industries with the diesel fuel tax rebate......an illogical policy tug-of-war situation.
With our Zero carbon emissions IO mining by 2030, Fortescue would be further rewarded for our efforts to reduce anthropogenic carbon-induced global warming, as a result of the caps.
