Old growth forests and mangroves in Myanmar are chopped down at the rate of 100,000's tons to feed the furnaces in China to make solar panels.
I guess you thought that solar panels just pop out from the local shop.

99% of all solar panel installed in Australia are made in China.
The solar panels made in China use silicon metal produced in China using mangroves that are chopped down and burnt in Myanmar.
What makes matters worse is that China now controls most solar panel production due to climate crazies wrecking Western economies. Germany has now fallen off a cliff.
The biggest joke is that all the silicon metal for the solar panel is produced using coal fired power. Its impossible to use wind or solar to operate 24/7 Si furnaces as silicon metal requires 14,000kWh to produce one tonne.
