    Greetings Black Cat,

To quote your good self"....No-one agrees with you ...no-one is now talking inflation ....".

Mate , every economist I've ever read, seen or heard since I did my economics degree has noted the positive correlation between the imposition of tariffs, and inflation in the country imposing the restrictive measure, in this case, America. It obviously won't kick in immediately, it takes a while to flow through the system as cheaper existing inventory is gradually replaced by more expensive stock.

It'll be interesting to see if Trump panics if Wall Street continues its dramatic downward dive. If he fails to modify the existing punishing tariff regime, I would contend inflation will inevitably ensue .....let's revisit the subject in 12 months.

Fortunately our Treasurer Jim Chalmers et al have wisely not retaliated with our own tariffs.....smart move, it would only punish the Australian economy and Aussie shoppers if we had spat the dummy.

Yes, Mr Cat, I agree with you..... damage to sensitive habitat should be avoided.....Australia is a big place...I disagree strongly with rain forest destruction for wind farms.

Yes, also we are also in furious agreement on not sourcing raw materials that involve unethical behaviour, so there are 2 ways to address the issue....

    1. Insist that we will not accept products which involve unethical workplaces and unimpeded environmental destruction practices. Obviously all mining involves some degree of destruction of the local area, it just has to be minimised, and the land rehabilitated at the conclusion of the operation.

2.Encourage our own resource development by not accepting into Australia products involving poor environmental practices and child exploitation. Ya get no argument whatsoever from me , mate.

Hang on, I'm going to have to agree with you yet again , Catty.....This is a world record for us! .......There'll be know wand waving to establish new mining industries in Oz.....I'm a sufficiently pragmatic realist to understand new industry developments takes time, initiative and effort

Anyway, thanks for your thoughts Mr Cat....you raised some very important issues.

All the best, sir, Wes T Tiger jnr
