MegaA, your post is also incorrect in that you ignore people who hold FMG and other shares/ assets in a super fund. I have a SMSF so that is all I know, but I get all the Franking credits, and now the fund is in retirement mode I pay no tax at all. So for example last year I got around $100k of FMG distributions, then a $42k tax refund. So I pulled $142k out (FMG component) with no income tax, for living and play money. Plus other stuff.
Everyone's situation is so different that its impossible to summarise in a couple of paragraphs. Hope that helps.
