I beg to differ, if you take that line of thought Amazon would still be just a book reseller. As the company grew and ventured into E-commerce, Cloud Computing, Artificial intelligence, Consumer electronics, Entertainment Digital distribution, Self-driving cars and Supermarkets. They ditched those had no expertise in the new ventures and took on those that excelled in their fields. I am all for diversification and you have to give credit to FMG for going big on the green front years before any other major Australian company decided to follow suit.

My take is the staff leaving realize they dont have the experience for the new ventures FFI is branching into. They see the writing on the wall and would rather leave on their own terms rather than be shown the door down the track. Twiggy sets the bar very high for himself and expects the same from his staff. If they are not up to the new challenges ahead or have the requisite skill sets he is not going to keep employees that are not a good fit moving forward.
