PhillW, I used to be there and the total salary package for a truckie was around $134,000pa. That's pretty damn good for a 8 and 6 roster. It was that roster that FMG used to poach workers from its main rivals. Of course the market has changed now, and FMG can no longer afford to overpay its employees. My guess is the 14/7 roster will be imposed with no compensation offered for the extra hours worked. The downside is that FMG will now be on the nose with both retrenched, and those retained, but on the new contract.
That will not be good for FMG into the longer term IMO.
