Passive funds will need to be ready and rebalanced by Friday 18th Sept, so you will see them rebalancing ON 18th Sept so when markets reopen 21st they are at index weight. A few Hedge Funds with event driven strategies will look to exploit this by going long now and waiting for the Passive (Index) Funds to buy on the market close 18th Sept.
