I'm guessing if the nuclear option was taken up back in the day, the power station in John Howard's backyard would be up and operating by now.
Time waits for no-one, so lets start pouring concrete now. If it's good enough to send Voyager II,out of the solar system and it still keeps communicating after 47 years without needing a maintenance crew and renewables it's good enough for us.
