While the native title impact is clearly close to negligible in commercial terms (as per FMG's announcement), management clearly mis-judged FMGs position, so there is a reputational hit.
FMG's share price though more likely to have been negatively impacted by weaker performance of lower grade ores, and the likelihood of the recent (smaller) spike being sustained.
