Well, IMO two big problems
1. Underfunded for the vascular patches and underestimated the difficulties achieving market share
2. Wrong bet on antiviral immunotherapy
That's what nearly killed the company and brought the share price crashing down by 90% (or more).
Not sure about lessons learned, simple survival tactics.
