Hmmm, my goodness after being in your fair country for only 6 months, its quite amusing to see just how many people think the world has collapsed...
Mining / resources/ Oil are the cheapest stocks out there, and make No mistake there. Their rapid fall is nothing short of mass hysteria and paranoia played out by a world media to a global audience.
Selling your mining , petroleum and resource stocks is really astute. Your country is awash with an abundence of the key fundementals required for global expansion.
They will all be required much to the same rate ( albeit reduced) in the short term and certainly when the world wakes up from this media driven slumber / panic and realises its 2009 the mid term future, ( forget about China losing 0.459% growth etc..) Total tosh... yes it may slow but once china and others realise that ploughing with horses and riding bikes is really not the way forward, it will be business as usual.
The world will always modernise and expand - its the very most basic of economics.. Always has and always will.
I think of the situation at the moment like thus- what would George Orwell do if he was alive and could write. Would he be writing about the world expanding back into steam power, and living in wooden houses? I think not.
Now then OZL..I hold stock ,like I do in BHP, RIO, WOODSIDE, FMG, PDN and many others.. Picked them all up for peanuts thankyou.... Never I think has there been a better opportunity to create wealth by buying resource stocks at these sort of prices.. OZL do have some short term issues to deal with , but they will bounce out of this like the majority of resource companies ( and certainly all of the blue chip ones)
Opinions are like buttholes, everyones got one and they all stink!
Now then I wait for the views that I am mad, will lose everything , Australia is doomed, the world is doomed, Lord Lucan has been found in shaft c at block 3 in whaleback screaming that we all should really forget about steel, oil, gas, copper and zinc and look at paper mache, wind power and pig shit..
The Man from Del monte say " buy and buy big" It is times like this where serious future wealth will be made...
