Just trying to piece together this ridiculous pantomime that is PEP-11.

So correct me if I'm wrong.
    • The Feds have ultimate decision making power as PEP-11 is wholly in Commonwealth waters
    • Few Feds are not tarnished with bias on the topic of PEP-11 and the responsible decision maker appears to be a ghost being redacted from FOI documents
    • Advent's application to extend the exploration licence is currently sitting with the JA awaiting a decision from Courtney Houssos the NSW Resources Minister approve or decline, either way it should have no bearing on the decision which rests with the Feds be that Madeleine King or someone she delegates
    • NSW has lodged a Bill the Environmental Planning and Assessment Amendment (Sea Bed Mining and Exploration) Bill 2024 to prevent any activity on the sea bed floor within 3 nautical mile effectively trying to prevent bringing the gas ashore should it be found
    • The Bill's status is Awaiting Assent, 14/03/2024 (https://www.parliament.nsw.gov.au/bills/pages/current-bills.aspx)
    • As the Bill is Awaiting assent -The bill has passed both Houses and is awaiting consideration by the Governor.
    • We await for the NSW Governor to either Assent (bill becomes an Act—a law—only after it has been passed in identical form by both Houses of the Parliament and has been assented to by the Governor-General) or decline.
    • Margaret BeazleyGovernor of New South WalesMargaret Joan Beazley, AC, KC, is an Australian jurist who is the 39th and current governor of New South Wales, serving since 2 May 2019. She was the president of the New South Wales Court of Appeal, the first woman to hold the office, from 2013 until February 2019.
    • Considering Margaret BeazleyGovernor of New South Wales was previously president of the New South Wales Court of Appeal she would have a good understanding of the legalities and consequences of assenting a bill that would be contradictory to the decision of the Federal court Asset Energy -v- Commonwealth Minister for Resources (Federal Court of Australia)
    • Could it be that the dirty work is being left to the Governor of New South Wales who according to law must consider if this bill is inconsistent with Federal legislation and as such the PEP-11 extension should be granted approval.
    • If the bill is not assented by the GG then NSW pollies are in the clear as they tried to stop PEP-11 and Feds are in the clear as they followed the law in the process.
