    The chinese call them 'mass incidents' because to admit there was riot in China would be a loss of face.

    Since 2010 there are no official figures on 'mass incidents', and you won't need to be Albert Einstein to figure out why.

    A 'mass incident' is defined as a 'gathering' of more than 100 people.

    In recent years the number of recorded “mass incidents” in China has increased steadily, from 32,000 in 1999 to over 180,000 in 2010 – since when there are no official statistics.
