Selected would imply they had multiple options to choose from.... My guess is that they chose them because they were the only option.
I did my research a while ago, and came to the same conclusion. No evidence that these companies had completed any capital raises like this before.
That beings said, Anything's possible especially when your dealing with Saudi money, but I wont be getting my hopes to high until I see the announcement.
