Firstly, I make NO apologies for not commenting on this earlier but I & others prefer to say nothing rather than coming in half c@cked with half the facts & info.
This Ahuja person reminds me of a used car salesman, it really is the hard sell, something that has always turned me right off however one must look at the big picture & look at it from their own angle. From a purely economic point if one entered RCI with the idea of making a quick buck, the offer could be considered attractive depending on when you bought of course.
If you entered, as I did, with a longer view in mind & I haven't seen anything to change that, the only decision one could make would be to keep them unless in the meantime you found something much better that you could only finance by accepting the offer.
As far as I can assertain [please correct me if I'm wrong] there are 80 million shares & 60 million options outstanding which means RCI are in no way near overcapitalised, if they are correct in having some 350 million tonnes of coal, with much of it being good quality coking coal which does demand a premium, at current prices around $50 to $70 per tonne depending on grade, together with a general consensus of commodity traders predicting that all types of coal will enjoy price rises between 12%-25% depending on who you listen to but particularly for coking coal, things look good.
I'm NOT going to do the sums but as you can see this is why this Bowen Basin player is wanted by both Chinese & Indian Companies.
We are certainly NOT talking about another RIO or BHP but to suggest it's no good just because one of them don't own it is either naivety or scaremongering. One must also consider that if one of them did come on board you also get their baggage. There are definite advantages sometimes NOT to have a mega co involved, other companies have been known to exist without them & indeed flourish.
I cannot find any evidence behind why RCI would perish if the BWN offer is rejected as some have suggested, in fact I can't see any reason why it won't move forward. Seems to me many on here are trying anything to persuade others to vote the way they want them to regardless of if it is in their own best interests to or not.
Everyone should follow their own plan, take in just the known facts & vote according to your own situation, I know I will be.
Whatever you decide I wish you all well.
