Your post remind's me of a news article I was reading which was talking about growth in the market being reduced or possibly going backwards.
Renewables don't require growth per se. They only require a shift from one method of transportation or energy generation to another. What you're indicating is that there is also growth into other markets, which in China makes sense as people buy an electric vehicle over going into a lottery and hoping they win the right to be able to purchase a fossil vehicle.
Growth and shift will make renewable stocks more stable.
